The Buic brand presented at the Shanghai Motor Show the Chinese version of the next-generation Opel Astra sedan – the compact Buick Verano .
The new generation model has acquired a branded radiator grille “Waterfall” and xenon headlights with LED inserts in the spirit of the Avenir concept . The taillights also use LED technology.
In profile, the model can be recognized by the double “waist line” and 17-inch ten-spoke rims wrapped in Continental MC5 225/45 R17 tires with reduced rolling resistance. The drag coefficient of the novelty was reduced to 0.27.
Buick Verano for the Chinese market received a modified chassis adapted for driving on local roads and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder SIDI gas turbo engine with a start-stop system. This unit develops 169 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 250 Nm of maximum torque in the range from 1700 to 4400 rpm.
The company reports that the new sedan on average consumes only 6.1 liters per hundred kilometers, which is the best indicator in the segment.
The car will go on sale in the Chinese market in the second half of 2015.
