The first edition of “Eugene Onegin” will go under the hammer 

Rare editions of books from the time of the Golden Age of Russian literature will be lined up at Christie’s auction. Among them is the first version of the first chapter of Alexander Pushkin’s novel Eugene Onegin .
The original version of this work, printed in 1831-1832, was sold only twice. Lot was estimated at 70-90 thousand pounds sterling.
Bidding will be held on July 9 in London, all of them will be exposed to more than 120 copies of various rare editions, the website of the auction house. Buyers will be able to purchase works by Mikhail Lermontov , Alexander Pushkin, Nikolai Gogol , Fyodor Dostoevsky and some other writers and poets.
