Tourists will close the entrance to the roofs in St. Petersburg

The head of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, decided to close the roofs for tourists. According to him, both tourists and locals suffer from such tourism.
“For us, a big problem is the development of“ tourism on roofs ”. Private organizations, individuals organize groups of tourists and drive over the rooftops. First of all, it is a big danger for tourists who walk on these roofs, as well as for residents: we have metal roofs in the city center, then large leaks occur, ”
– said the Acting Governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, he is quoted by Interfax.
According to the mayor, another danger is associated with access to engineering communications of houses. Now there are locks, but they are cut with a grinder.
Now, added Beglov, video surveillance systems, secure attic floors, and mortise locks are installed in the entrances of St. Petersburg. In his opinion, this will complicate the passage to the roofs.
Beglov discussed issues of enhancing the security of Petersburg roofs with Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-West Federal District, Alexander Gutsan .
